While reviewing the poll preparedness of the party’s UP unit on Tuesday, she said that like opposition parties, BSP should not give patronage to criminal elements. She also asked her party men to give representation to all castes and communities during shortlisting candidates for elections.“Distressed by the apathy of the govt towards matters of welfare, people are looking at BSP with hope. To come true to their expectations, the party has to work hard and with devotion and loyalty. No lack in this will be tolerated,” she said. Among the major election-related instructions that Mayawati has given to her party’s rank and file are making the organisation strong at the ground level. She has also asked to expand the reach of the party to all castes and communities. On Tuesday, she sought a progress report on all such instructions issued by her.“In a big state like UP, the difficult situation related to people’s livelihood is getting even murkier. But govt, nevertheless, is trying to solve all the problems faced by people through hollow promises and rhetoric, which is extremely unfortunate,” she said. She said the poor have been doubly hit as the crisis of LPG, petrol and petroleum products, due to the ongoing America-Israel and Iran war, has increased the prices of products. She also asked her party people to celebrate the birth anniversary of Babasaheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar on Apr 14 with missionary zeal.
