AHMEDABAD: The Bodakdev police on Sunday registered cross-complaints following a late-night altercation between two groups on the SP Ring Road near Hebatpur cut. The confrontation, which unfolded around 10.30pm on Saturday, involved members of two families travelling in separate cars after a dispute linked to a personal relationship. In the first complaint, a woman alleged that her husband left home on March 12 and did not return. While searching for him, she and her family learned that he had travelled to Bhavnagar with another woman. Two days later, as they waited near Sanathal Circle on the SP Ring Road, they spotted his car and began following it. According to the complaint, when they reached near the Hebatpur cut while driving from Shilaj towards Bhat circle, they signalled the vehicle to stop, but it continued. Her family then allegedly drove ahead to block the car, forcing it to halt. A heated argument erupted when the woman asked her husband to return home. The woman alleged that her husband and the woman accompanying him abused her and her sons, leading to a physical scuffle. She claimed she was pushed to the ground after her hair was pulled, slapped, and assaulted. Her sons were also allegedly beaten before a relative intervened to separate the groups. In a counter complaint, the second woman said she and her friend were returning from Bhavnagar after visiting a temple when their car was intercepted near the Hebatpur cut. She alleged that the other group stopped their vehicle, verbally abused them, and then assaulted them. She further claimed she was dragged out by her hair, slapped repeatedly, and threatened. Her eight-year-old son was also allegedly pushed and slapped. The man accompanying her was reportedly beaten by the complainant’s son and his friends.
