Kanpur: Farmers received tips on scientific methods of farming at Chandrashekhar Krishak Samiti meeting at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Sabhagar of Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, here on Saturday.The meeting was conducted under chairmanship of extension director Dr V K Tripathi, who, encourged farmers to adopt agricultural diversification to achieve maximum yield and income. Research director Dr Mahak Singh provided information about scientific ways to cultivate sunflower.Head of department of soil science Dr Sarvesh Kumar expressed concern over soil health and emphasised growing ‘dhaincha’ green manure for use in their fields. Head of department of animal husbandry Dr Ramji Gupta informed farmers about milk and its processing and emphasised importance of cooperative societies.Spice scientist Dr Sanjeev Sachan provided farmers information about scientific cultivation of garlic, onion, ginger, chilli and other crops. University media in charge Dr Khalil Khan said farmers were given useful information about cultivation of Zaid season crops such as urad, moong, maize, etc.The guests were welcomed by Chandrashekhar Krishak Samiti president Babu Singh and Jagdish Singh. The programme was conducted by Jitendra Singh. Progressive farmers Kamal Kishor and Rajesh Tripathi, along with several other farmers, were also present.
