GURGAON: A 55-year-old farmer died on Thursday after a speeding canter truck rammed into a pickup vehicle from behind, moments after its occupants stopped to change a burst tyre.The accident occurred around 3am on the Sohna-Gurgaon road flyover near Shri Ram Dhaba. The deceased, Sule Khan, a resident of Tapkan village in Nuh, was among four men who set out around midnight to transport tomatoes to a vegetable market in the city.According to a complaint filed by his son Sajid, the pickup vehicle, a Bolero, suffered a rear tyre burst on the flyover. The occupants halted the vehicle and spent around 15 minutes replacing the damaged tyre. A rashly-driven canter truck crashed into them from behind. They were taken to Sohna Civil Hospital. Doctors declared Khan dead on arrival. Khalid is currently undergoing treatment. Haroon and Rizwan are stated to be out of danger.A case has been registered at Sadar police station under sections 281 (rash driving), 125(A) (rash or negligent acts that endanger human life or personal safety), and 106(1) (causing death due to negligence) of BNS.
