Noida: A 54-year-old man was arrested for allegedly assaulting and attacking a 60-year-old woman with a spade over a property dispute in the Jarcha area on Sunday.The accused, Babli, a farmer from Upralsi village in Jarcha, allegedly hit Saroj with a spade, causing her to fall, after which he continued hitting her multiple times, until a crowd gathered and rescued the woman, who was unconscious by then. They took her to a nearby hospital, where her condition is stable now.Police received a video of the incident, prompting them to take action. ACP Prashali Gangwar said the incident occurred on Friday when the woman was passing through the area, while the accused was watching road construction work along with other locals. Suddenly, he went to her and started hitting her. Locals intervened and rescued the woman.During the investigation, it was revealed that the woman and Babli were involved in a dispute over some property and on the day of the incident, a verbal argument broke out between them, which led to the assault.On the complaint of the woman’s son, Sunil, a case was registered under BNS sections for attempt to murder, voluntarily causing hurt, criminal intimidation, and intentional insult.
