Hyderabad: The Narayankhed police booked a case under the POCSO Act against a former councillor in Sangareddy district for allegedly misbehaving with girl students at a BC welfare residential hostel. A case was also registered against the warden, the mother of the former councillor, and two other women employed on an outsourced basis.According to the police, the 32-year-old former councillor used to visit the girls’ hostel when his mother, the warden, was away and allegedly misbehaved with the students. He continued such behaviour even when his mother was present on the hostel premises.Based on a complaint lodged by the officials of the BC welfare department, the police registered a case on Tuesday. Police recorded statements from the girls who claimed that the warden ignored their complaints despite being informed. A departmental inquiry is also currently underway.
