Patna: A 70-year-old woman was found murdered with her throat slit at her home at Raghopur village under Judawanpur police station area of Vaishali district on Monday. The deceased, Dajo Devi, wife of late Dev Vilas Rai, had been living alone for the past five years.Police suspect robbery, as her gold earrings and the keys she usually wore around her neck were missing. Her son, Sunil Rai, alleged that anti-social elements who often sat near their house drinking had threatened her several times when she objected to their activities.Sunil, who lives in Ranchi with his brother, told police that they visited their mother a week ago and last spoke to her on Saturday evening. Her phone was switched off thereafter. Neighbours later informed him about her murder. Villagers rushed to the spot and found her body lying inside a room of the house.Judawanpur SHO Abhishek Kumar Ojha said that the police recovered a blood-stained sickle from the spot. The body has been sent to Hajipur Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. Police are questioning locals, and the case is being probed from multiple angles.
