Jaipur: Panchayati Raj minister Madan Dilawar Sunday ordered action against officials in Sikar district after conducting surprise inspections of cleanliness in several gram panchayats, expressing strong displeasure over poor sanitation conditions.During his travel from Jaipur to Churu, Dilawar made unscheduled visits to multiple villages to assess ground realities. Following the inspection, he directed that chargesheets be issued to the chief executive officer (CEO) and additional CEO of the Sikar Zila Parishad. He also ordered the suspension of block development officers (BDOs) and additional BDOs of Palsana and Piprali panchayat samitis. The minister first visited Thikariya village and later reached Rewasa under Palsana Panchayat Samiti, where he found heaps of garbage and poor sanitation arrangements. Interacting with villagers, he asked whether regular sweeping was being carried out and whether sanitation workers visited the area. Residents informed him that neither sweeping was done nor garbage collection vehicles were deployed.Dilawar then inspected Bajor village under Piprali Panchayat Samiti, where he encountered waterlogging, muddy roads, and garbage piled along main roads, obstructing movement. Angered by the situation, he contacted the CEO of the Zila Parishad and questioned the lack of monitoring and field visits by officials.Warning of potential health risks, especially with the approaching summer season, Dilawar raised concerns about the spread of diseases such as cholera due to unhygienic conditions. He also ordered the suspension of the Swachhata Abhiyan block coordinator and the Swachhata Prabhari. The minister asserted that despite repeated instructions over the past two years, if cleanliness standards are not maintained, strict action will continue against responsible officials.
