Panaji: Governor Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju, chief minister Pramod Sawant, and archbishop Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrao along with auxiliary bishop, Simiao Fernandes, have wished Christians on Easter.The governor said Easter is a sacred and significant festival that symbolises hope, renewal, and the triumph of life over adversity. “It reminds us of the values of compassion, forgiveness, and faith, which are essential in building a harmonious and inclusive society.”The chief minister said, “The day reminds us to follow our conscience and practice what we can do for others. Easter is a call to live out the message of hope.”The cardinal said the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the ultimate victory of light over darkness. “In a world often fractured by conflict and division, Easter calls us to be catalysts of peace. As we celebrate the new life brought in by the risen Lord, I urge you to reach out to the marginalised. Let our joy be infectious and translated into concrete acts of service, with a commitment to promote understanding, forgiveness in our society.”
