Ranchi: In a proud moment for the state, Sudipa Dutta secured the 41st rank in the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025, whose results were announced by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Friday. She was the topper from Jharkhand among eight candidates who qualified.The 25-year-old emerged successful in her third attempt. In her first attempt, inadequate preparation halted her at the prelims. However, she bounced back strongly, reaching the interview stage in 2023, and now secured the 41st rank. Sudipa also secured the 24th rank in the recently conducted CDPO examination.“I completed my Class 10 from St Joseph School in Banka (Bihar) with 95.8% marks, and Class 12 in science from Sido Kanhu Vidyalaya in Dumka with 92.4%. My graduation was in political science from Aditya Narayan College, Dumka, securing 7.8 CGPA,” Sudipa said.Sudipa prepared entirely from Dumka using online resources and regular visits to the local govt library. “I studied over 10 hours daily,” she stated.Sudipa’s father, Sachchidanand Dutta, serves in the postal department, while her mother, Pampa, is a homemaker. She has two younger sisters and a brother, all pursuing studies.Apurva Verma secured a rank of 42 in the examination, while Tejaswini Singh secured 62nd rank, while Shubham Kumar Mahto achieved an all-India rank of 142. All three of them are from Bokaro.A metallurgical engineer, Bipul Gupta, 25, who hails from Latehar district, secured the 103rd rank.Md Ishteyaque Rahman from Ranchi’s Doranda ranked 354 in the final list. The 25-year-old, currently employed as an immigration officer at Hyderabad airport, cleared the exam on his third attempt.Niharika Sinha, 25, of Kulipada mohalla in Sahibganj district secured the 365th rank, while Shruti Modi, 27, from Barora (maternal uncle’s home) in Dhanbad district, was ranked 569.
