Thane: Crime Branch seized 123.6 kg of ganja valued at Rs 31 lakh near the defunct Kharegaon toll plaza in Kalwa on Wednesday and arrested two Nashik residents.Police said the action followed a specific tip-off about a large consignment of narcotics being transported towards the Mumbra area. A team laid a trap along the Nashik–Mumbai highway stretch and intercepted a car travelling from Bhiwandi towards Thane. During the search, officials found five plastic bags concealed inside the vehicle, containing the contraband.
The arrested accused were identified as Sagar Govind Pawar (33), a resident of Nandur Shingote in Sinnar, and Dhondiram Chaitu Bhagde (50), from Nandgaon Sado in Igatpuri, both in Nashik district.
