Dhanbad: The driver of gangster Faheem Khan’s son Iqbal Khan, Hyder Ali alias Babli, was shot at by unidentified assailants near Ali Nagar under the Bank More police station limits in Wasseypur on Friday night.Dhanbad (city) SP Ritvik Srivastava said, “Iqbal Khan, accompanied by his bodyguard and driver, was returning home on foot from a mosque. They suspected that they were being followed. Iqbal reportedly took shelter inside Faheem Market, while his bodyguard and driver went after the suspected pursuers. Two bike-borne youths allegedly rammed the bike into Hyder near Ali Nagar, knocking him to the ground, and then fired at him. The bullet hit him in the back. The attackers allegedly fled towards Bhuli.”“Area residents took Hyder to Asarfi Hospital, which referred him to a hospital in Durgapur of West Bengal, where his condition was stated to be critical. An empty cartridge was recovered from the spot. A probe was under way.”Sources, however, indicated that the police are probing the incident from the angle of personal enmity. The possible involvement of associates linked to notorious criminal Prince Khan is also being examined.
