Lucknow: New details have emerged in the sensational double murder case in Sisendi village of Mohanlalganj, where a 45-year-old woman, Reshma, and her 18-year-old visually impaired son, Shadab, were found dead at their home near the panchayat secretariat late Monday night. The case was registered after the victim’s younger sister, Afsana, a resident of Harchandpur Garhi Kanaura in Manak Nagar, lodged an FIR with the Mohanlalganj police on Tuesday. In her FIR, Afsana said that on Monday, while speaking on the phone with her brother-in-law Shabbu, her sister told him that someone was banging loudly on the door. The call was abruptly disconnected shortly afterwards. A few moments later, the family received information that Reshma and her son had been murdered at their home, she said. Afsana alleged that a man had behaved inappropriately with Reshma a few days before the incident. She claimed that the person had expressed his love for Reshma and pressured her to marry him. Reshma had reportedly informed her family members about the man’s advances. She further mentioned that a property and land dispute with one Imran had also taken place earlier, raising suspicion that the murders could be linked either to harassment or to the property dispute. Based on her complaint, an FIR under BNS Section 103(1) (murder) was registered against an unidentified person, and a probe is underway. According to officials, Reshma’s body was found in a semi-nude condition near a cot inside the room, while her son Shadab’s body was discovered face down in a water trough outside the house.
