Prayagraj: With Navratri and Eid around the corner, LPG distributors on Wednesday urged district authorities and oil companies to increase their daily supply quota to clear the backlog.Distributors said the backlog could be managed smoothly if oil companies ensured a fixed number of domestic cylinders were supplied each day. They added that the mandatory 25-day gap between two bookings would moderate demand, as only those who had exhausted this period would be eligible to book again. Officials from the district administration, oil marketing companies and distributor associations held a meeting on Wednesday evening to draw up a plan to streamline supply and manage the booking rush. Sources said queues outside distributor outlets have shrunk in recent days, and most consumers who place bookings are receiving their cylinders within three to four days.
