Dhanbad: In a bid to ensure peaceful Holi, a peace committee meeting was held at the New Town Hall in Dhanbad on Wednesday.The meeting was chaired by deputy commissioner Aditya Ranjan and attended by senior superintendent of police Prabhat Kumar, along with administrative officials, police officers, and members of the peace committee from various parts of the district.Addressing the gathering, the DC emphasized that just as the recent municipal elections concluded peacefully, Holi too should be celebrated in an atmosphere of harmony and brotherhood. He said that all departments have been issued necessary guidelines to maintain law and order during the festival. The DC made it clear that no victory procession or public rally would be allowed without prior permission from the administration. If required, legal provisions, including Section 160, may be invoked to prevent any disturbance to public peace. Ranjan also extended his greetings to residents on the occasions of Holi and the ongoing month of Ramadan, urging people of all communities to uphold mutual respect and communal harmony.Speaking on the occasion, SSP Prabhat Kumar said the committee members raised several local concerns, which were carefully heard and forwarded to the respective officials for prompt action. He assured that the police administration remains fully alert and prepared to handle any situation.
