Vadodara: Dahod police have recaptured, Manoj Katara, who was accused in a Pocso case and had escaped from the Devgadh Baria sub-jail late on Sunday evening. The fugitive was caught at his house in Hathiyavan village of Limkheda taluka in Dahod district.Katara is an undertrial prisoner in a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act case registered at Limkheda police station in Dahod district. An offence for the escape, registered at Devgadh Baria police station, stated that Katara was brought out of his cell on Sunday evening with another inmate for an ‘aarti’. He is believed to have escaped sometime after this. A bamboo stick was found near a toilet in the jail. It is believed Katara used the stick to scale the jail wall.Officials of the local crime branch, special operations group, parole-furlough squad, Limkheda police and Devgadh Baria police had begun a manhunt for Katara. On Wednesday, they got intelligence that Katara was at his home in Hathiyavan village. A team went there and caught him. He was handed over to Devgadh Baria police.
