Ghaziabad: UP govt has approved the request for shifting the office of the deputy registrar from Ghaziabad to Noida. While the existing office is near the Guldhar metro station, the location of the new office is yet to be finalised. The deputy registrar’s office manages the registration, administration, and regulation of societies, partnership firms, and chit funds under relevant state acts. It also manages resident welfare associations (RWAs).The two districts currently share one deputy registrar post, created in 2023. Earlier, society matters were handled from Meerut. Acting on a request from the UP registrar’s office, authorities approved the relocation of the deputy registrar’s office along with its official renaming to reflect the new location. In an order dated Feb 13, special secretary Shiv Singh informed the registrar of the Governor’s approval. While the official correspondence address will now shift from Ghaziabad, all other conditions of the original order will remain unchanged. “We will continue to hold weekly sittings in Ghaziabad as before to ensure that applicants and office-bearers from the district do not face inconvenience. However, the official communication address of the department will change to GB Nagar,” Vaibhav Kumar, deputy registrar for Ghaziabad and GB Nagar, told TOI.
