Panaji: The water resources department (WRD) granted its no objection certificate for allotment of 1.7MLD water from the Tillari irrigation canal, for supply for the integrated resort development project of Delta Corp at Dhargalim, Pernem. The WRD’s order states that the approval has come following govt nod for the same.“The water so supplied will be chargeable as per the govt notification. The applicant shall bear all the cost of construction of outlet and metering arrangements. The first right shall be for department requirements, like irrigation and drinking water supply. The deparment reserves all rights to either stop or curtail water supply at any time without any notice and the applicant can’t claim any compensation or damages or seek any legal remedy,” the order states.Last year, when opposition MLAs had raised an alarm over state govt’s decision to denotify 3.3 lakh sqm of Tillari command area at Dhargalim to pave the way for Delta Corp, to set up an integrated resort, chief minister Pramod Sawant had assured the House that the decision of the Investment Promotion Board to approve the project is not final and is subject to the approval of the Tillari irrigation development board’s Command Areas Development (CAD).
