GURGAON: A 23-year-old delivery agent died a day after an unknown vehicle hit his motorcycle near a mall on Dwarka Expressway.The victim, Umesh Vishwakarma, was travelling to Manesar to deliver a parcel on Tuesday evening. Near Conscient One in Sector 109, his motorcycle was hit by an unknown vehicle being driven at high speed.Passers-by rushed him to Govt Hospital, Sector 10, from where he was referred to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi due to his critical condition. He died during treatment on Wednesday.Police said Umesh lived in a rented accommodation with his brother in Delhi’s Mahipalpur. Based on a complaint filed by his brother, Pramesh Vishwakarma, a case has been registered at Bajghera police station under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of BNS against an unidentified driver.Police said the driver fled the scene after the accident, and efforts are underway to identify the vehicle and the accused.According to police, 24 commuters died in 52 accidents on Dwarka Expressway last year. Two deaths have been reported on the expressway this year till Feb.
