NEW DELHI: A 25-year-old man was murdered and his friend injured after they were stabbed by four people, including two minors, in South East Delhi’s Badarpur. All the accused have been apprehended. Police said that while the altercation was initially triggered by the breaking of a car’s side mirror, the murder stemmed from deep-seated previous enmity.Police received a PCR call around 10 pm on Feb 5 regarding a violent stabbing incident near a public toilet and the Ayurveda Hospital in Gautampuri, under the jurisdiction of Badarpur police station.Preliminary inquiry, based on eyewitness accounts, revealed that the altercation began over a seemingly minor issue—the breaking of a side mirror of a Santro car. However, the dispute quickly escalated due to long-standing enmity between the two groups.The victims were identified as Arun (25), a garment vendor, and Shivam (25), a housekeeping staff member at AIIMS. Both were rushed to the AIIMS Trauma Centre with multiple stab injuries. Arun succumbed to his injuries during treatment after sustaining a fatal stab wound to the gluteal region. Shivam, who suffered a stab wound to the epigastric region, is undergoing treatment and is reported to be stable and recovering.Multiple teams were formed by the Badarpur police, who conducted raids leading to the detention of all four accused.
