New Delhi: In a bid to ease chronic traffic congestion in south Delhi, the govt has fast-tracked three major road infrastructure projects in the South Delhi Lok Sabha constituency.The major infrastructure initiatives include the construction of a Master Plan Road connecting IGNOU to the Tughlakabad Shooting Range via Neb Sarai, Sainik Farms and Deoli Bandh Road. The project is designed to offer an alternative route, facilitating better connectivity for commuters in Neb Sarai, Freedom Fighters Enclave and surrounding areas.An elevated corridor is planned along the busy 100-Foota Road in Chhatarpur, a stretch often plagued by severe congestion.The third project involves the construction of a one-kilometre road beneath the Metro corridor between Harkesh Nagar and Maa Anandmayee Marg to streamline vehicular movement.The directions were issued by PWD minister Parvesh Verma during a high-level meeting at the Delhi Secretariat attended by south Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, local representatives and senior officials. Bidhuri said the projects have been pending for long and their execution will bring much-needed relief to commuters.The projects are expected to ease bottlenecks in densely populated areas like Deoli, Sangam Vihar, Chhatarpur and Tughlakabad.
