Jaipur: Cybercrime-related losses in Rajasthan dropped by Rs 26 crore in the first six months of this year compared to the same period last year, while Rs 23 crore was held or refunded, police officials said Saturday. Data from the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal showed complaints rose slightly from 53,975 in the first half of 2024 to 54,879 in 2025, but FIRs dropped from 250 to 132. The total reported fraud amount went down from Rs 354.66 crore to Rs 328.64 crore, while the amount held or frozen increased from Rs 43.93 crore to Rs 66.58 crore. The decline followed special operations and widespread awareness drives. The launch of the cyber helpline 1930 and WhatsApp helplines 9256001930 and 9257510100, along with regular advisories in print and electronic media, led to more prompt reporting and quicker intervention, officials said. Police have urged people to call the helpline 1930, use the WhatsApp numbers, file a complaint on the cybercrime portal, or reach out to the nearest police station or cyber police station if they face any online fraud.
