Ludhiana: Unidentified cyber fraudsters allegedly created a fake Facebook ID of the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Traffic, Gurdev Singh. The matter came to light when one of the officer’s friends received a friend request from the fake profile. Before the ACP became aware of it, the impersonator had already added several people from his friends list. ACP Gurdev Singh later posted on his official Facebook account, informing the public about the fake profile. He wrote that someone had created an account using his name and was sending friend requests to people connected to him. He cautioned that some individuals had already accepted these requests, assuming they were from him. He urged people to ignore and not follow any friend request coming from the fake ID, warning that miscreants could attempt to cheat people after connecting with them. The ACP added that he has asked the Cyber Crime police to identify the person behind the profile.
