Nagpur: The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET), a mandatory qualification for aspirants seeking teaching jobs in CBSE-affiliated schools, will be held in Nagpur on Feb 7 and 8, with examinations scheduled across around 50 centres in the city. Most of the centres are CBSE schools, which have stepped up preparations, including classroom arrangements, seating plans, and coordination with local authorities, as a heavy turnout of candidates is expected due to the growing demand for teaching positions.According to a Central Board of Secondary Education public notice, the 21st edition of CTET originally scheduled only on Feb 8, will now be conducted on two days — Feb 7 and 8 — due to a large number of applications received nationwide. The examination will be held in 140 cities across the country.
School authorities in Nagpur said additional staff were deployed for invigilation and coordination, while standard examination protocols are being followed to ensure the smooth conduct of the test. With CTET being a key gateway for teaching careers in CBSE schools, officials expect a disciplined but crowded exam weekend across the city.As per the revised schedule, CTET paper II will be conducted from 9.30am to 12 noon, followed by paper I from 2.30pm to 5pm on both days. Each paper will be of 2.5-hour duration. Candidates were advised to carefully check their admit cards for the exact date, paper, and timing allotted to them.CBSE clearly stated that no candidate will be allowed to enter the examination centre after the commencement of the exam. Candidates were also asked to reach their centres well in advance to avoid last-minute issues. No request for a change of examination city, centre, or date will be entertained under any circumstances.
