Srinagar , March 30 : The Communist Party of India (J&K) unit has paid glowing tributes to Com. Abdul Sattar Ranjoor on his 36th death anniversary
On this day in 1990, Com. Ranjoor was martyred at his home in Keegan village when armed militants indiscriminately fired upon him, killing him on the spot. His martyrdom remains a painful reminder of the sacrifices made by those who stood firm for their ideals in difficult times.
“Com. Ranjoor was not only a committed political leader but also a noted progressive poet. Through his writings, he gave voice to the struggles, aspirations, and pain of the oppressed, using literature as a powerful tool for social change,” CPI said in a statement.
The party said that throughout his life, he worked tirelessly for the upliftment of the poor and marginalized sections of society. Deeply committed to progressive and secular values, he dedicated himself to the cause of social justice, equality, and the empowerment of the subaltern classes.
“He, until his last breath, stood firm for peace, communal harmony, and the rights of the oppressed, never wavering in his commitment despite grave threats to his life. His courage, integrity, and literary as well as political legacy continue to inspire generations”, said the party.
The party remembered him as a fearless leader, a people’s poet, and a true comrade whose ideals will continue to guide the struggle for justice and dignity.
