Kanpur: Additional district and sessions judge, Subhash Singh, on Wednesday dismissed the bail application of Rajiv Kumar, who was charged under section 13(5) of the Public Examination Prevention of Unfair Means Act, 2024 and section 61 (2) BNS by the Cantonment police in Kanpur.According to the prosecution, the accused had brought Shikha Kumari and asked her to appear in an examination in place of Renu Yadav. To establish Shikha Kumari’s identity as Renu Yadav, he fabricated an Aadhaar card and an admit card in the name of Renu Yadav, along with a picture of Renu Yadav, and provided the fabricated papers to Shikha Kumari. Shikha appeared in the trained assistant teacher graduate category examination conducted by the UPPSC.Shikha, in the name of Renu Yadav, gave her biometrics and iris identification and appeared in the social science examination. During the examination, area manager Amit Pandey of Innovative Agency informed officials about the doubtful identity of Renu Yadav. When officials cross-checked and investigated, the matter was exposed and, on the statements of the accused, Rajiv Kumar was caught.In his bail application, Rajiv Kumar pleaded that he was innocent and fabricated in this case. The judge, after hearing the arguments and going through the evidence on record, dismissed the bail application of the accused Rajesh Kumar. tnn
