Hyderabad: Police investigation into the murder of BRS supporter Chintalapati Madhu (42) in Suryapet district has intensified, with authorities confirming the involvement of multiple individuals in the case. Police said five special teams have been constituted to trace and arrest the accused. Cases have been registered against former Yarkaram sarpanch Midde Ravinder’s son, Midde Jeevan, along with several others allegedly linked to the murder.According to SP K Narasimha, Madhu had been living with his wife, Mounika, and their two daughters in Sri Ram Nagar of Suryapet for the past few years. The family had shifted to the town after the murder of Onteddu Venkanna in 2020. On Friday morning, Madhu reportedly left home, but by evening, he was unreachable on his mobile phone. Concerned over his disappearance, Mounika lodged a complaint with the police around midnight.During the investigation, police identified a rented room in the Tallagadda area of Suryapet, where Madhu’s friend, Saidulu, was staying. Investigators suspect that Madhu was attacked and murdered inside the room, allegedly with an axe. Police believe the body was later shifted and dumped on the outskirts of Yarkaram village.Madhu was an accused in the murder case of Midde Ravinder, a resident of the same village, but was later acquitted. Police are probing whether the killing was carried out as an act of revenge linked to that case. The SP said preliminary findings indicate the involvement of seven persons in the murder.Speaking to the media, Mounika alleged that several persons, including Midde Jeevan, Marepally Satish, Kuntigolla Srinu, Kattaboina Malli, Kattaboina Srinu, Midde Kiran and Borra Arun, were involved in the crime. SP also said the allegations made by Mounika are being verified and that the postmortem report is awaited.Reportedly, two accused had surrendered before the police on Friday night, though the SP denied receiving any formal surrender. He stated that efforts are continuing to apprehend the suspects. Police also noted that Midde Jeevan was nine years old when his father was murdered in 2007.
