Chatra: Manish Kumar, posted as a constable in Sadar police station in Chatra, thrashed a man in full public view on Saturday night following an altercation over parking of a two-wheeler outside a restaurant. Manish was suspended by Chatra SP Sumit Agarwal on Sunday after a video clip of the incident went viral on social media.Manish, who was dressed in civilian clothes, reached Hotel Pawan near Gandauri temple at night with Ankit Kumar, one of his colleagues. Manish then parked his bike outside the restaurant. Soon after, a man pulled up his bike behind Manish’s bullet and parked there. Angered, Manish asked the man to remove his bike. But the man, a labour, delayed it a bit which furthered angered Manish who then ended up thrashing him. Ankit intervened and removed Manish from the spot as other people at the restaurant and on the road filmed the incident on their phones. “A report was sought from Sadar police station in-charge Vipin Kumar. The constable was suspended based on the report. Such behaviour on part of any policeman is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. All cops must behave decently in public,” Agarwal said.
