Vadodara: A woman head constable was found hanged at her home in the city on Wednesday evening, sending a shockwave through the police force as senior officers rushed to the spot.Police said Priyanka Prajapati, 28, had been posted at Kapurai police station for the past two years. Known as an efficient cop, she had been preparing for the police sub-inspector exams and had been on leave for the last 10 days to study. On Wednesday night, a colleague went to her home on Ajwa Road to give her study material. When repeated knocks went unanswered, the colleague alerted senior officers. A police team reached the house and broke open the door. Prajapati was found hanged with a piece of cloth tied to a ceiling hook. “The reason for her action is yet to be known. Prajapati did not leave behind a suicide note. We will try to get more information from her family and friends,” a police official said. Her family in Banaskantha was informed, and her body was sent for a postmortem.
