Hyderabad: Deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Monday said the Congress govt has fulfilled a majority of the promises and guarantees made to the people ahead of the assembly elections. Stating that the govt is committed to spending every paisa on public welfare and the state’s development, Bhatti said, “We are running a humane govt. None of us in the cabinet has any personal agenda. The needs and aspirations of the people of Telangana are our main agenda.”He was addressing a public meeting at Pippiri village in Adilabad district to mark the third anniversary of his “People’s March”, a nearly 1400-km padayatra he undertook when he was the CLP leader. “When we were in the opposition, we listened to people’s grievances and have continued the same approach after coming to power, resolving them as far as possible. We have also put mechanisms in place to assess the impact of welfare measures on the people,” he said.Stating that both the chief minister and the deputy chief minister of Telangana hail from rural backgrounds and are therefore aware of the problems faced by farmers, the poor, and other sections of society, Bhatti said they are working as servants of the people, and not feudal lords enjoying power.He said the govt allocated Rs 10,000 crore for the free bus scheme for women alone, and Rs 5,000 crore is being deposited into bank accounts of Indiramma housing scheme beneficiaries. Adilabad district in-charge minister Jupally Krishna Rao, TPCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud, Adilabad MP G Nagesh, Boath MLA Anil Jhadav and Mancherial MLA K Premsagar Rao also addressed the public meeting.
