Margao: State Congress president Amit Patkar on Saturday criticised the anti-narcotics cell over the death of a 21-year-old Indore youth during a late-night party at Anjuna. The health of the youth suddenly deteriorated during the party, following which he was taken to a private hospital, where he was declared brought dead.Pointing out that state govt constituted a specialised anti-narcotics task force earlier this year to combat drug trafficking and improve coordination law enforcement agencies, Patkar said that the tourist’s death proved the failure of the task force. “How could drugs find their way inside the party,” Patkar questioned.“Pramod Sawant govt has given blanket approval for organising such parties where drugs are freely available,” Patkar said. He demanded a post-mortem on the body be conducted and the report be made public.
