Mysuru: Congress MLC Yathindra Siddaramaiah on Thursday said that a team, led by DC G Lakshmikanth Reddy will be constituted to re-verify the land provided by the state govt for construction of a stadium on KSIC land in T Narasipura town.Speaking to reporters after visiting the KSIC unit, he said the committee will include senior officials from the sericulture, and youth empowerment and sports departments, who will inspect the KSIC facility and submit a report. A final decision on the land will be taken after going through the committee’s report, he said.The MLC clarified that the Congress govt will not close down the silk filature unit. He accused the opposition of misleading the factory employees and people of the town. The govt took the decision to provide the vacant unutilised land for construction of the stadium, he explained.As there was no other suitable govt land available for construction of the stadium in T Narasipura, this land was planned to be utilised, he added.Meanwhile, the protest staged by various organisations entered the 15th day on Thursday. The protestors raised slogans against Yathindra, which were countered by the MLC’s supporters at the protest site. However, there were no untoward incidents, police said.
