Ramgarh: Kusumlata Kumari, a Congress-supported candidate, won the Ramgarh Nagar Parishad chairperson’s post by securing 17,605 votes. She defeated her nearest rival, BJP-supported Priya Kumari, who polled 11,113 votes.Another candidate, Renu Devi, received 9,401 votes.
A total of nine candidates were in the fray for the chairperson’s post, which is reserved for a Scheduled Caste woman. Results for all 32 ward member seats have been declared. Ramgarh Nagar Parishad, one of the newest urban local bodies in the state, has around 98,000 registered voters.
