Kanpur: To discuss the restoration of the Noon river and tree plantation, a meeting was held at Naveen auditorium, Sarsaiyaghat, chaired by chief development officer Deeksha Jain. The meeting reviewed the cleaning campaigns conducted so far and the tree plantation plan. Excavation work in the Noon river flow area was completed in 34 village panchayats, with Shivrajpur block completing 17.85 km against a target of 17.68 km, Chaubepur block completing 4.72 km against a target of 4.85 km, and Kalyanpur block completing 1.05 km against a target of 1.03 km.The CDO directed the formation of Noon river restoration and plantation committees at the village and block levels. The block-level committee, led by the block development officer, includes the assistant development officer, panchayat, child development project officer, among others. At the village level, the committee is led by the village head and includes the secretary, employment servant, panchayat assistant, mate, and members of self-help groups/agriculture assistants. These committees will ensure the maintenance of work done on the river.
