T’puram: Save University Campaign Committee (SUCC) has lodged a complaint with the Election Commission (EC) against former chief minister V S Achuthanandan’s son V A Arun Kumar — who is currently an IHRD director — accusing him of making a Facebook post criticising the political decisions of former CPM leaders including G Sudhakaran, who is contesting in Ambalappuzha. IHRD operates under the applicable Kerala Service Rules.“When one forgets one’s political roots and seeks new grounds, it evokes not surprise but sympathy. Soon, such people will realise that the soil of Punnapra-Vayalar is not for sale. There are reports of discord among party workers in various places and the party leadership should be able to understand the sentiments of ordinary people who see the movement as their lifeline,” stated Kumar’s Facebook post, which the complaint claims is against the election code of conduct rules.SUCC’s complaint said that Kumar, who holds a high position in a govt institution and is ready for political exploitation, was unsuitable for this position and should be immediately removed from the director’s post.
