A bizarre incident unfolded during Kolkata Knight Riders’ chase against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday in IPL 2026, when Angkrish Raghuvanshi was left fuming following a chaotic run-out, only for an umpire review to confirm that it was Cameron Green who had been dismissed.
The incident occurred on the final ball of the powerplay during Kolkata’s chase of 227 at the Eden Gardens. Raghuvanshi drove a delivery from Eshan Malinga straight back, with the bowler getting a slight deflection off his boot.
Unaware of the ball’s position, Raghuvanshi initially set off for a single before hesitating midway. However, Green had already committed to the run and continued towards the striker’s end without turning back.

Meanwhile, the ball trickled towards the non-striker’s end. Malinga reacted quickly, collected it, and dislodged the bails.
Raghuvanshi, believing he was the one at risk, showed visible frustration and looked back at Green, who had begun walking off in disappointment. However, just as Green was about to cross the boundary rope, the umpires intervened to review the dismissal.
Replays revealed that both batters were on the same line at the moment the bails were broken, resulting in Green being adjudged run out. Raghuvanshi was called back to continue his innings, while Green made his way off, as Ravi Shastri aptly described the moment on air as a “comedy of errors.”
Raghuvanshi went on to continue his impressive form, scoring a fluent half-century to anchor Kolkata’s chase. However, his innings ended in another run-out mix-up, this time involving Rinku Singh.
The dismissal came on the final ball of the 11th over when Raghuvanshi sliced a delivery from Shivam Kumar towards backward point. Rinku initially set off for a single but quickly retreated after seeing the fielder gather the ball. Raghuvanshi, already well past halfway, was forced to turn back but failed to make his ground, leading to his dismissal and a visibly frustrated reaction from Rinku.
