COIMBATORE: After almost six months of successful trial of digitisation of postmortem reports on the Medico-Legal Examination and Postmortem Reporting (MedLEaPR) platform, Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) is now working on the data of emergency cases, especially accident case details. The details of the patients and their condition are being digitised. The CMCH authorities and the city police conducted a meeting in this regard on Friday. The digital platform was developed by the National Informatics Centre.A CMCH official said postmortem reports for all legally related issues had been issued through this platform for the past six months. “Now we are heading towards uploading accident report (AR) cases and wound certificates. All the patient particulars entered in an AR copy will be uploaded. Since AR is a heavy load, it will take some time to switch to digitalisation in full swing.” “The trial of AR details has been going on for almost a month now. Meanwhile, the police have asked us to integrate the patient treatment details and the medical investigation report, which should be provided by the treating doctors. So, the suggestions have been taken into consideration, and proper execution will take another couple of months, for which the department is simultaneously working,” the official said.
