Ahmedabad: A swift search and rescue operation by the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) rescued an injured fisherman after receiving a distress call from a fishing boat operating off the Veraval coast. According to information shared by the Coast Guard on X, the Coast Guard ship C-149, based at Veraval, responded to a medical emergency reported from the Indian fishing boat Guru Krupa, which was operating around 23 nautical miles from the coast.The injured fisherman was taken on board the vessel and evacuated to the Coast Guard jetty at Veraval. Officials said he was immediately given first aid and stabilized by the station medical officer, and later shifted to the Veraval govt hospital for further treatment.
