Lucknow: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath identified public participation, innovation, transparency and timely implementation as the foundational elements for the success of the aspirational development blocks and district programmes in Uttar Pradesh. He said that the state govt is fully committed to integrating aspirational areas into the mainstream of development. All departments should advance towards achieving their goals with collective coordination and solid planning.Yogi clearly said that aspirational districts and development blocks are the top priority for the state govt. “Vacancies in the government departments in these areas are unacceptable,” he said, instructing officials that quick appointments be ensured wherever there are vacancies.On Sunday, CM Yogi conducted an in-depth review of the progress in the state’s aspirational districts and development blocks. During the meeting, reports from field visits by senior officials were presented, discussing the implementation of plans at the grassroots level, achievements in innovation and necessary improvements.According to the field visit report, inspections were conducted in 108 aspirational development blocks, covering 272 schools, 301 Anganwadi centres, 232 health units, 229 village panchayat secretariats and 275 other institutions. Currently, 497 FPOs are active, and 6,595 BC Sakhis (business correspondents) are working in the field of financial inclusion. A total of 106 development blocks achieved their goals in line with the ‘block development strategy’. Senior officials also carried out thorough inspections of the state’s eight aspirational districts which include Bahraich, Balrampur, Chandauli, Chitrakoot, Fatehpur, Siddharthnagar, Sonbhadra and Shravasti. Yogi emphasised on improving the data collection system for effective evaluation of the actual development status. He also instructed that a thorough analysis of inspection reports be conducted to ensure deep monitoring of plans.Officials pointed out the various development activities and works that are being carried out in the aspirational blocks of the district. Sharing one such example a senior officer said, “Organic lemon production and exports over 6 hectares in Bansdih, Ballia, have led to increased income for the local farmers in the locality.”Similarly, he highlighted the AI-based cancer screening centre established at the primary health centre level in Fatehpur district as an excellent example of technological innovation, suggesting that such practices should be adopted in other districts. The CM directed that successful innovations should be replicated in other blocks.
