Jaipur: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma Monday unveiled a comprehensive plan to strengthen anganwadi centres across the state with a focus on improving service delivery, worker support and early childhood care systems.As part of this plan, the CM transferred Rs 1,000 each via direct benefit transfer (DBT) to over 1.22 lakh anganwadi workers and helpers for purchasing two uniforms. At a programme held at his official residence, CM Sharma also released an annual activity calendar for anganwadi centres, outlining year-round interventions aimed at strengthening nutrition, health monitoring and pre-school education.The CM also distributed benefits to beneficiaries under key welfare schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, Lado Protsahan Yojana and Kalibai Bheel Yojana.Addressing the gathering, Sharma highlighted the critical role of anganwadi workers in nation-building. “Anganwadi workers take care of our young children and are strengthening the foundation of the future generation. They are playing a vital role in nation-building,” he said.Detailing recent steps, he added, “Over the past two years, several decisions have been taken to strengthen anganwadi centres. Our govt has approved a 10% increase in honorarium for anganwadi workers, helpers, mid-day meal cooks and other honorarium-based staff, which will be effective from April 1, 2026”.He said that under the Amrit Aahar scheme, children aged three to six years are being provided hot milk five days a week at anganwadi centres, while repair and strengthening work of centres is also underway.
