Prayagraj: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath’s dream initiative, the ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Udhyami Vikas Abhiyan’ is offering a lifeline among unemployed youth.For instance, Kareli resident Dr Anas Khan, despite holding a degree in physiotherapy, had no means of income. However, Dr Khan received a loan of Rs 5 lakh through the scheme to set up his own physiotherapy unit and subsequently opened a wellness centre in the Civil Lines area.“The aid enabled me to purchase physiotherapy equipment, which has significantly improved the quality and efficiency of my work. Currently, I manage to save between Rs 1 lakh and Rs 1.5 lakh per month,” he said. Joint commissioner of industries, Ajay Chaurasia, said govt has invested Rs 376.2 crore across the four districts of the Prayagraj division to support unemployed youth through the scheme.Under the initiative, eligible youths are provided with loans of up to Rs 5 lakh, enabling them to launch their own businesses and become economically empowered. The highest investment—amounting to Rs 118.23 crore—has been made in the Prayagraj. Fatehpur ranks second, with an investment of Rs 90.31 crore. Additionally, investments of Rs 87.37 crore in Pratapgarh and Rs 80.31 crore in Kaushambi have been facilitated through the distribution of loans under this scheme.Through this campaign, a total of 8,827 enterprises have been established across the division.
