Bhubaneswar: CM Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday reviewed the state govt’s preparedness to deal with a possible artificial shortage of essential commodities due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia. During the meeting, it was revealed that Odisha currently has adequate stocks of petroleum products, cooking gas, and other essential items.Majhi directed officials to maintain strict vigil to prevent any artificial scarcity, particularly of LPG, and to curb black marketing of essential commodities. He asked enforcement agencies to carry out statewide inspections and raids and take stringent action against hoarders and unscrupulous traders. He stressed the importance of ensuring sufficient availability of fertilisers for the upcoming rabi season.Earlier in the day, members of the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Odisha (HRAO) sought the intervention of chief secretary Anu Garg to ease difficulties in procuring commercial LPG cylinders.
