Kanpur: A speeding bike on Monday evening hit a class 5 student who was standing with her father at Nandana Chauraha in Ghatampur, Kanpur, leaving her critically injured. The girl got entangled in the bike and was dragged a considerable distance. She was admitted to the CHC, where she died during treatment.After the accident, people present nearby caught the two young men riding the bike and handed them over to the police.Divyanshi, 9, a resident of Sardarpur under Gajner police station area of Kanpur Dehat, came to Nandana market with her father, Nandlal, and their neighbour, Guddu Paswan. After buying clothes and slippers, she was standing with her father at Nandana Chauraha when the speeding biker rammed the bike between both legs of the girl and dragged her a considerable distance.The girl’s death left the family devastated and distraught.Nandana police outpost in-charge Sumit Kumar said that both the men have been taken into custody. The body has been sent for postmortem.
