Chennai: City student Ajaiy P from Chettinad Vidhyashram scored 99.999 percentile in the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) (main) session one exam to become the state topper.More than 13 lakh candidates appeared for JEE (main) session one exam, which was conducted from Jan 21 to 28. The National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the results of the exam on Monday. While 12 students scored 100 percentile in the exam, no Tamil Nadu student got 00 percentile in the first session. “The paper on Jan 22, shift two was lengthy, and maths was harder than usual. Physics and chemistry questions were also mixed this year,” said Ajaiy.
He plans to write the JEE (main) session two exam too and wants to join IIT.Darsh from Maharishi Vidyamandir Senior Secondary School in Chetpet got 99.99 percentile. “Maths was a bit lengthy, but it was manageable,” he said.B Pavan Kumar, academic dean of Maharishi Global Education, said students from Tamil Nadu will perform better in the second session compared to the first session. “Students will be busy with board exams and do better in April,” he said.
