Chatra: The Chatra district administration stepped up preparations to ensure a smooth, peaceful, and fair civic body polls. A high-level review meeting was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of district election officer-cum-deputy commissioner Kirtishiree G, with general observer Sudhir Das also present.The meeting reviewed preparedness across all election-related wings, including returning officers, assistant returning officers, sector magistrates and nodal officers of various cells such as personnel, training, media and ballot management. Officials were directed to strictly adhere to the State Election Commission’s guidelines at every stage of the election process.
DC instructed nodal officers to conduct physical inspections of all polling stations and ensure the availability of basic facilities. Sector magistrates were asked to intensively survey their respective areas, assess potential law-and-order challenges and submit reports immediately if any shortcomings were found. The training cell was directed to conduct election-related training programmes effectively and in a time-bound manner.Kirtishiree inspected the strong room, dispatch centre and counting centre set up at Chatra College. She reviewed arrangements related to security, entry and exit routes, CCTV surveillance, power supply and other essential facilities, and asked officials to complete all preparations well in advance in line with Election Commission norms.Officials informed her that all election-related cells were functioning in 24×7 active mode to ensure seamless coordination. Senior officials present during the review and inspection included SP Sumit Kumar Agrawal, DDC Amarendra Kumar Sinha, additional collector Arvind Kumar, SDO Chatra Jahur Alam, SDPO Chatra Sandeep Suman, district transport officer Maheshwari Prasad, district education officer Dinesh Mishra and district public relations officer Shakeel Ahmad.
