Kanpur: Two people in the Naubasta area of the city tied a live dog with a rope and threw it into a canal, leading to its death, police said.The incident was captured on CCTV footage, which showed the two people dragging the dog for about 20 metres before throwing it into the canal.The police said that an FIR was filed and the identification of the accused was being carried out using the CCTV footage.In this connection, a report was filed against two youths by Mayank Tripathi of the Ummeed Ek Kiran organisation. The video of the dog being tied with a rope and dragged into the canal went viral on social media.According to the report, around 5 pm on the evening of March 13, a video went viral in which Jitendra Singh, a resident of Hanspuram, was seen dragging the dog tied with a rope along with a boy.Naubasta SHO Bahadur Singh said that an investigation is underway. tnn
