Kolkata: The teams set up by the Bengal govt to map unrecognised madrasas in 12 districts submitted its report to the minority affairs and madrasa education department on Wednesday.“The teams have recommended a detailed probe into the sources of funding,” according to a senior official.The official added: “Financial support (to these institutions) comes not only from locals but also from various organisations. Mumbai: A day after the second-year class commenced, a 20-year-old BTech student at IIT Bombay died by suicide in his single-occupancy room in Hostel No 4 on IIT Powai campus, police said. Police suspect the student took the extreme step on Tuesday night and was last captured on closed-circuit television (CCTV) on IIT campus premises, walking towards the hostel building around 12 noon.“We suspect a failed relationship behind the student’s extreme step. New Delhi: Customs officials at Indira Gandhi International Airport have arrested two passengers for allegedly attempting to smuggle 7.4 kg of hydroponic weed from Bangkok. After detecting the weed in one passenger’s baggage, customs officials found that the baggage had been handed over to him by another passenger.The passengers arrived at Delhi airport Monday. Officials said during X-ray screening of one passenger’s baggage, officers noticed suspicious images.
