Flood mitigation study starts Surat: The Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) on Wednesday launched a hydrology survey to tackle flooding caused by overflowing creeks, with plans to develop a detailed 3D model to guide future flood mitigation measures.As part of the first phase of the LiDAR-based study, drone-mounted cameras are being used to capture high-resolution images of creek corridors. Vadodara: The special operations group (SOG) of Panchmahal police on Wednesday arrested two men for allegedly trafficking cannabis. Police said they had received a tip-off about the accused after which they kept watch in the Damavav area of Godhra. The duo — Chandra Baria and Natu Baria — residents of Ghoghamba taluka, were nabbed with cannabis plants worth around Rs 19 lakh.In Vadodara city, Sayajigunj police arrested three persons, including two women, for alleged possession of cannabis worth Rs 37,000.
