Kolkata: The state has asked cops to strictly enforce the ban on toto operation on national highways, state highways, and other major roads. In a letter to the DGP on Friday, transport department principal secretary Ravi Inder Singh said totos were intended to provide “last-mile connectivity” but their operation on major roads was restricted under existing guidelines. The department said it had received several complaints indicating that unauthorised e-rickshaws were plying on various national and state highways. Such movement, it said, was not only contributing to traffic congestion but also raising concerns over road safety. Source link

Ahmedabad: AMC on Saturday sealed the controversial Manpasand Gymkhana building in Dariapur for alleged unauthorised use of the premises. According to AMC officials, the building was sanctioned in 1962 with permission for commercial use on the ground floor, residential use on the first and second floors, and partial approval for the third floor. However, unauthorised construction was later carried out on the third floor.AMC had demolished the illegal portion of the third floor on March 20, 2025.
