Noida: The district will conduct a special measles-rubella (MR) vaccination campaign from Aug 18 to 28 to cover children aged five to 10 years who missed their scheduled doses, officials said.The campaign will target students of classes 1 to 5 in govt and private schools, Anganwadi centres, madrasas and other educational institutions across the district.The decision was taken at a district task force meeting chaired by chief development officer Bhalchandra Tripathi. Palanpur: The Special Pocso court in Aravalli sentenced a man to life imprisonment for raping and brutally murdering a five-year-old girl in a village in Dhansura taluka in 2023.According to the prosecution, the girl, who lived in the village, had gone to the house of the accused, a neighbour, to play. Ranchi: The Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority (Jhalsa) has launched an initiative to promote litigation-free villages through a community mediation programme in rural areas, beginning with a pilot project across five districts. Under the plan, five villages each in Ranchi, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Dumka, and Jamtara have been selected, with the programme to be expanded after its success, officials said on Saturday.The scheme, being implemented on the direction of the National Legal Services Authority, aims to settle minor and compoundable disputes at the village level before they reach courts.
